As a landscape photographer, there are two editing skills you must master.
This is not up for debate.
NUMBER 1: Make global adjustments to RAW files maximizing the color and light you captured in the field. This is done in Lightroom or Camera RAW.
NUMBER 2: Make selective adjustments, changing small parts of the image without affecting other parts of the image. This can only be accomplished in Photoshop!
In this section, you’ll learn the basic techniques for editing a RAW picture file from start to finish.
This is one of the most important skills you need as a landscape & outdoor photographer.
After editing the RAW files we move into Photoshop where you will learn the basic foundations of my editing process.

Photoshop is not a hard program to learn if taught correctly!
The problem is, Photoshop was created for all artists, so 99% of the features are not necessary for landscape and outdoor photographers.
Finding the 1% of tools & techniques you do need is very confusing & time-consuming.
I’ll teach you the tools & techniques I use in Photoshop, and how to master them.
Stop running away from Photoshop!
It’s required to take your photography to the next level.
I’ll teach you how.
4. Introduction to Luminosity Masks & Channels
VIDEOS CONTAINED IN THIS SECTION:
- Introduction to Luminosity Masks – 62 Minutes
As a FREE BONUS, I’ve included my Luminosity Mask Actions.
This section covers the basics of the most powerful tool in Photoshop & photo editing, luminosity masks.
Luminosity masks make it easy to combine two different images, of brighter and darker exposures, photographed with a technique called Exposure Bracketing.
This method is ideal for combining high contrast photos, such as sunrise, sunset or forest scenes, to increase the overall dynamic range in the final image.
Luminosity masks are also used for other adjustments within Photoshop, such as Saturation, Color Balance, Levels, Curves, and much more.
This section teaches the basics of luminosity masks and all the skills required to start utilizing them in your photo editing process.

VIDEOS CONTAINED IN THIS SECTION:
- Photo Sharpening Techniques – 20 Minutes
- Final Image Review, Saving Final Images, and Portfolio Setup – 29 Minutes
This section covers my techniques for sharpening images to display online & the correct file formats for sharing images on the internet.
Without the correct sharpening techniques & file saving methods an image that looks great on your computer will display poorly on the internet or your portfolio.
I’ll teach you how to correctly sharpen and prepare your images for online display.
Also covered are my techniques for saving the final full-size Photoshop images & organizing them for later use or print.
I teach a free photo sharpening technique, as well as my favorite paid Photoshop plugin for sharpening.
From there, we save the final images & organize them in Lightroom.
